• integer A number that can be written without a fractional component
• median The value separating the higher half from the lower half of a data sample, a population, or a probability distribution. For a data set, it may be thought of as "the middle" value.
• numerator The top number in a fraction.
• denominator The bottom number in a fraction.
• factor Numbers we can multiply together to get another number.
• product The result of multiplication
• difference The result of subtracting one number from another. How much one number differs from another.
• diameter The distance from one point on a circle through the center to another point on the circle. It is also the longest distance across the circle.
• radius The distance from the center to the circumference of a circle
• mode The number which appears most often in a set of numbers. Example: in {6, 3, 9, 6, 6, 5, 9, 3} it is 6 (it occurs most often).
• mean value The average of the numbers. Calculate: add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are.
• ratio How much of one thing there is compared to another thing.
• approximation Not exact, but close enough to be used.
• change factor The multiplier that takes you from the initial value of some quantity to the final, or changed, value of that quantity.
• formula A fact or rule that uses mathematical symbols.
